On September 3, the China National Institute of Metrology organized an expert group to conduct an on-site evaluation of the technical readiness of the broadband high current measuring instrument project seven "Optical fiber broadband high current measuring instrument and core component engineering" of the "Development and Application of Broadband High Current Measuring Instrument" project at SIO. After five years of development and engineering research, the technical readiness of the optical fiber broadband high current measuring instrument successfully passed the expert group review and reached the eighth level.

This review meeting invited five experts from Beijing Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University, Institute of Semiconductors of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Aerospace Times Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., and the Fifth Institute of Electronics of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to conduct a special review. The project leader, Dr. Xiao Hao, general manager of SIO, reported on the project background and the completion of the technical readiness of the broadband high-current measuring instrument and the estimation of the mean time between failures.

After the report, the expert group went to the site to check the research and development status of relevant systems and products, as well as the implementation of basic conditions, software and hardware equipment and other supporting conditions.

The expert group questioned the project based on the annual plan and assessment indicators agreed in the task book, combined with the broadband high current meter technology readiness self-assessment report, the mean trouble-free time assessment plan and the test report, and the project leader gave an on-site defense. The expert group discussed the existing problems with the project team and put forward suggestions for improvement.

The expert group evaluated and scored the technical readiness of the fiber-optic broadband high current measuring instrument based on the "Guidelines for the Evaluation Methods of Technical Readiness of National Major Scientific Instrument and Equipment Development Key Projects". After careful deliberation, the expert group finally formed the "Expert Group Review Opinion Form", and unanimously agreed that the technical readiness of the fiber-optic high current sensor has reached the ninth level, and the technical readiness of the fiber-optic broadband high current measuring instrument has reached the eighth level.
