From August 13 to August 15, 2024, the "11th China Aluminum Industry Science and Technology Development Conference" jointly organized by eleven industry units such as Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology and Lucheng Laboratory was held in Baotou, Inner Mongolia. This meeting conducted a comprehensive and in-depth discussion on the scientific and technological development goals of the aluminum industry and the task of energy saving and carbon reduction, summarized the advanced production processes and key equipment recently developed by the aluminum industry at home and abroad, and provided technical support and reference value for the implementation of the "Special Action on energy saving and carbon reduction in the electrolytic Aluminum Industry" formulated by the National Development and Reform Commission in July 2024.

At the conference, Professor Tie Jun, professor of North China University of Technology and Chief scientist of SIO , shared the latest research results "Accurate measurement and application Prospects of regional current of aluminum electrolyzer", and proposed that online measurement of current distribution of electrolyzer is the data basis of advanced technologies such as intelligent electrolyzer and intelligent control system. At the same time, the irreplaceable advantages and progressivity of optical scheme in current measurement of electrolytic cell after many tests are introduced.
Following that, Liu Dongwei, chief engineer of SIO, made a special report on the conference entitled "Application and Prospect of Aluminum electrolytic current Fiber Measurement Technology", which received extensive attention from industry experts. In the report, it focuses on the online measurement technology of electrolytic cell current distribution, which is also the first public appearance of the online measurement system in the industry conference, the system overcome the cost, pole change impact, high temperature and other technical difficulties faced by the online measurement of electrolytic cell current fiber optic, and obtained preliminary application in an aluminum unit.
Through this special report, the participants have a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of fiber optic current sensor technology, and also highly appraise the technical strength and innovation ability of SIO in the field of fiber optic current measurement, further enhancing the company's brand influence in the industry.
